Description of Services Provided:
An adult group home provides the most intensive level of residential treatment with the availability of clinical staff 24 hours a day. Admission criteria require that the client be at least 18 years of age and diagnosed with a serious and disabling mental illness. Treatment is structured to promote increasing levels of independence and skills training in activities of daily living for each resident. This setting offers ongoing treatment, daily residential structure and intensive training for community adjustment. Referrals for this level of care typically come as the result of the need for transition from short term or long term institutional care, or for residents with repeated ed episodes of hospitalization due to an inability to care for oneself in a safe manner. Expected length of time in residence varies, but most consumers will stay 9-18 months.
